We’ve already mentioned that CITIPHILE and Tibi designer Amy Smilovic has a penchant for city-minded dressing; her label is chock-full of cropped jackets, slip dresses and mules (aka our dream closet). So, when life in New York inevitably catches us in a bind— whether that be last-minute girl’s nights or the impromptu first date (always tantalizing, and yet habitually disappointing), we count on the designer for her trend-driven, albeit practical pieces. This season, that means leather peplum pencil skirts, wide-leg jumpsuits and a nubby powder blue moto jacket with a cozy teddy bear texture— just call it the fashion girl’s answer to the Snuggie. Below, we’ve outlined a few of our favorite Tibi finds for fall.

Pony Hair Tibi Mini Skirt Ivory Multi TF114PNT53353

Pony Hair Mini Skirt ($295) // We’ve been neglecting our minis recently, in favor of sylphlike midis, but this winter white skirt has us wondering if we need to reassess. We love that the skirt’s pony hair lends it a brushed, almost painterly look.

Kelby Mohair Tibi Maxi Coat Light Heather Grey TF214KLB93434

Kelby Mohair Coat ($950) // With perfectly sized lapels and in a soft grey hue, Tibi’s Kelby coat is the one we’ll be reaching for year after year.

Halcyon Taffeta Tibi Strapless Jumpsuit TF114HLC23238_B

Halcyon Taffeta Jumpsuit ($595) // Dresses disguised as capes, jumpsuits disguised as dresses (remember Emma Watson’s gown-in-the-front, party-pants-in-the-back combo at this year’s Golden Globes?), we’ve been fans of cross-bred garments since our tennis camp skort days. Tibi’s take: A gilded taffeta jumpsuit hidden underneath a femme party frock. Looks like a certain JV tennis champ we know is growing up.

Panda Outerwear Tibi Oversized Moto Jacket Powder Blue TF114PDA83473

Panda Motorcycle Jacket  ($595) // We’ve already sang this jacket’s praises but we will say it again: a socially acceptable and unforeseeably chic way to sport a Snuggie in broad daylight? We’ll take two.

Leather Tibi Tropical Wool Skirt Black TF214LEA53435

Leather Skirt ($525)// We’re generally in head-to-toe black so the devil is in the details— they’re what keep us from looking like a uniform blob. The leather peplum on this pencil skirt adds just enough intrigue to keep the classic cool.
