Cushnie et Ochs

BEHIND-THE-SCENES S/S ’15

Cleopatra was CITIPHILES Carly Cushnie and Michelle Ochs’ inspiration for their collection yesterday, and indeed, 21st century warrior princess we got. Scintillating, body-con dresses made their way down the runway, some with thigh-high slits, others with cut-outs at the neckline and bodice, progressing in color from rich tangerine and indigo to soft blush, white and black. One incandescent tangerine opener was particularly striking, featuring a draped silk neckline that shimmered like liquid gold, though the strongest looks were a blue, A-line gown with a dramatic, floaty train and a black, viscose shift dress with grommets that again alluded to that “modern-day Cleopatra.” The softer-hued looks appeared just as fierce with harness-like straps and sharp, geometric lines. All in all, it was a strong collection that will surely resonate with women today. Check out our exclusive backstage coverage and a few of our favorite looks below.
