THE VINTAGE-INSPIRED TEES THAT HAVE US SAYING, “YES, PLEASE”

We haven’t seen graphic tees befitting of blazers, berets and bangles in forever (or, maybe, ever), but it doesn’t surprise us that Brooklyn’s coolest couple is behind just that. Launching Monogram this past summer, Lisa Mayock and Jeff Halmos set out to revitalize the age-old wardrobe staple by using original graphics inspired by artists including Herb Lubalin and Bob Gill, alongside cheeky catchphrases like, “Nudes” and “Bad Taste.” The result? A line of T-shirts that feel both nostalgic and modern; lighthearted, yet elevated. In fact, Mayock intends to turn the token “graphic tee and jeans” look on its head, choosing to style Monogram’s shirts with more style-conscious pieces like trapeze pants and accordion skirts instead. Without a doubt, if anyone were to put the “chic” in basics, it’d be Mayock and Halmos. Below, are our favorite designs from the couple’s cool new line.
