Holiday Wear Where When: LA

‘TIS THE SEASON– TO SHOP, DRINK & EAT LIKE YOU MEAN IT.

In honor of the holidays, we’ve put a special spin on our signature CPxVIOLET GREY features this month. Curated by city, we’re breaking down the best ways to toast the season– whether that be in the more literal sense (think vegan “eggnog” lattes) or less so (i.e. where to find one-of-a-kind gifts and stocking stuffers). Our LA guide, listed below, includes a handful of the most recommended places and spaces from CP alums, as well as a few of our own festive finds. Naturally, we couldn’t help but pair each with charming treasures from VIOLET GREY because, well, if you can’t treat yourself to some much-needed, end-of-year pampering, when can you?

Toddie Trio, Bar Stella | “My favorite bar for cocktails; their bartender, Ericka makes truly perfect, old-school drinks.”- Mark Townsend; to toast the season, the Silverlake watering hole is offering three different riffs on traditional toddies (our favorite being the “Mexican” tequila-based version with chili-chocolate bitters), as well as post-dinner drinks like the “Rum Alexander” made with nutmeg, Kahlua and cream.
Vegan “Eggnog” Latte, Umbrella Co. | “It’s a small joint with interesting, relaxed décor and an inventive cocktail menu. I love their cocktails.”- Catt Sadler; and made with almond milk and organic coffee, the speakeasy’s vegan eggnog latte is as good for you as it is tasty.
Whiskey Winner, The Nice Guy | “My favorite place for happy hour…”- Irene Neuwirth; with 30 different rare bottles of rye, whiskey and scotch at the bar, it’s also the perfect bar to forget our winter woes (they even serve a whiskey-based cocktail in its own flask- how holiday apropos, no?).
South of the Border Eggnog, Gracias Madre | “Always great for a girls dinner…”- Jenni Kayne; but particularly right now, when the vegan spot is serving up its “Not Your Madre’s Eggnog” made with coconut milk, mezcal and a house masala chai blend.
