Holiday Wear Where When: NYC

In line with this month’s festivities, we’re continuing our CPxVIOLET GREY holiday guides celebrating all things “seasonal”– and this time, it’s all about the East Coast (in case you missed it, last week’s LA guide is right this way). Digging through our archives, we’ve handpicked the best (and most recommended) gift shops from CP alums, uncovered the ultimate holiday happy hours, and came up with a cheat sheet on NYC’s top, wintry treats. Whether you’re on the hunt for the perfect gift– for her, him or kids– or you’re simply looking to satisfy your sweet tooth, we’ve got everything you need to properly toast the season in Manhattan. And to top it all off, we’ve even thrown in our favorite petite present ideas for stockings, family and friends, all from VIOLET GREY. Check it out below.

Toast The Season  | From Cocoa to Toddy

Hot Toddy at The EDITION; Vietnamese Hot Chocolate from Morgenstern’s

Boozy Eggnog, NoMad Library Bar | “The drinks at the Library at the NoMad are pretty incredible…”-Tanya Taylor; and, trust us, their eggnog is no exception– made up of five different spirits, it’s boozy, but, it’s also, hands-down, the best we’ve ever had.
Hot Toddy, The Edition Hotel | “I always head here for after-work happy hours!”-Micaela Erlanger; for a limited time, the hotel’s lobby bar is offering a shareable, 4-person hot toddy called “American Tea Party” (made with Earl Grey), plus seasonal cocktails like the “Daily Dose,” a caffeinated whiskey drink made up of Irish whiskey, amaro, Grand Marnier, Nescafe and served with a side of Bailey’s.
Hot Cocoa, Morgenstern’s | “Guilty pleasure standby…” –Curtis Kulig; of course, the scoop shop’s known for their ice cream, but that may be about to change– it just debuted a delicious-sounding hot chocolate program complete three varities: Vietnamese coffee and condensed milk, Szechuan peppercorn, and white chocolate banana durian.
CP Pick | Mulled Wine, Gottino | Cozy and clandestine, Gottino is one of our favorite places to cuddle up with a bottle of wine and some small plates; come winter, they keep a housemade mulled wine on tap which they infuse with cinnamon, star anise and citrus– it warms body, soul and mind.

Milkbar | “I do enjoy the occasional cookie from here!”- Ken Downing; At the moment, Milkbar is jazzing up the good ol’ chocolate chip cookie with its holiday version: a cornflake-chocolate chip-marshmallow cookie dotted with peppermint chunks; plus, they just launched their cake truffles in a grasshopper flavor featuring chocolate chip cake mixed with mint cheesecake and rolled in chocolate crumbs.
Doughnut Plant | “Life-changing donuts…”- Greg Armas; Marzipan, gingerbread and panettone donuts? Yep, gang’s all here.
